We just released a number of changes to the ALx Series MagnaLOADs as we continue our platform consolidation, as follows:
- New Universal Input (UI) AC input for high-power units. We've begun rolling out DC fans with an independent DC power supply for the our rack enclosure fans. ALx Series high-power models 5 kW to 20 kW are now offered with a Universal 1-phase AC input. 1.25 kW to 17.5 kW now support UI (100-240 Vac, 1-phase) and 20 kW models now support UI2 (200-240 Vac, 1-phase) AC inputs. With this change, /120SP, /208SP and /240SP AC input configurations for the ALx Series MagnaLOADs are now discontinued.
- New industrial communication options. The ALx Series MagnaLOADs now support a wide range of new industrial interfaces, providing full command support, including:
- CANopen (+CAN) CANopen communication protocol and dual RJ-45 interface enabling CAN bus communications, popular within automotive applications
- EtherCAT (+ECAT) EtherCAT communication protocol and dual RJ-45 interface for high-performance communication in factory automation, motion control, and robotics
- EtherNet/IP (+EIP) EtherNet/IP communication protocol and dual RJ-45 interface with EIS profile for industrial automation, commonly used in Allen Bradley, Schneider Electric, and Omron PLCs
- LXI TCP/IP Ethernet (+LXI) TCP/IP Ethernet communication protocol and single RJ-45 interface, certified to the LXI Class C standard, for socket communications using conventional computer networks
- Modbus-TCP (+MTCP) Modbus-TCP communication protocol and dual RJ-45 interface with full command set support as Modbus commands
- PROFINET (+PROF) PROFINET communication protocol and dual RJ-45 interface for industrial automation, commonly used in Siemens PLCs
In addition to SCPI, MagnaLOADs now also support all commands via Modbus as standard over the included USB and RS485 interfaces.

The MagnaLOAD product configurator will be updated in the next 24 hours to reflect the new options and AC input voltage options. As a reminder, ALx Series MagnaLOADs are NRTL listed to both UL and CSA standards. We have a number of additional documentation updates coming in the next 2 weeks.
