3.6. Protective Covers

The ML Series MagnaDC power supply includes a set of protective covers for the DC output bus. The covers shield the bus bars from accidental contact and should be installed after all electrical connections have been made and verified.

The cover set consists of a top panel and two pairs of side panels, listed in Package Contents. The panels are powder-coated aluminum. Before attaching the covers, complete the AC input, DC output, and remote sense connections described in the previous sections. Route the cables through the cover openings, place each panel over its terminals, align the screw holes, and secure the panels using the included mating hardware.

Warning

Do not operate the ML Series MagnaDC power supply with the output bus covers removed. Depending on the application, voltages hazardous to human safety may be present on the output bus during normal operation, and the DC output bus remains at potential for as long as the output is energized.

The AC input connections are made behind a separate cover/access panel at the rear of the cabinet. Refit that panel after completing the AC input connection described in AC Input Connection.
