3.3. Harmonic Neutralizer Interconnection
1000 kW ML Series models ship as two cabinets — a power supply and a harmonic neutralizer — which are joined during installation. This section describes that interconnection.
500 kW models combine the power supply and harmonic neutralizer in a single, connected three-cabinet assembly, wired at the factory. This section does not apply to 500 kW models; skip to AC Input Connection.
Warning
Disconnect AC power from the mains and measure the AC input terminals to ground to ensure 0 Vac is present before attempting any part of this procedure.
Position the harmonic neutralizer cabinet immediately to the right of the power supply cabinet, as seen from the front, and secure both cabinets to the floor as described in Cabinet Installation. Leave the two cabinets far enough apart to work between them until the interconnection is complete.
All of the interconnecting wires and the bus bars they land on are labeled and colour coded. The wires supplied from one cabinet correspond one-to-one with the labeled terminations in the other; the procedure is a matter of matching label to label and colour to colour.
3.3.1. Secondary Wiring
Locate the wire bundle emerging from the right-hand side of the power supply cabinet. It is secured with wire ties for shipment. Cut the wire ties.
Route the bundle through the grommet in the left-hand side of the harmonic neutralizer cabinet.
Route the wires up and over to the copper bus bars at the top of the harmonic neutralizer.
Land each wire on the bus bar carrying the matching label and colour, so that each connection mirrors the wire already landed on the opposite side of that bus bar. Torque each 3/8” connection to 240 in-lbf (27.1 Nm).
3.3.2. Fan Harness
Locate the harness emerging from the left-hand side of the harmonic neutralizer cabinet.
Route the harness through the circular grommet in the right-hand side of the power supply cabinet.
Plug the connector into its mating receptacle.
3.3.3. Ground Bond
Locate the black wire with green heat shrink emerging from the power supply cabinet.
Land its ring terminal on the ground bracket at the rear of the harmonic neutralizer cabinet, on the right-hand side.
Warning
The ground bond between the two cabinets is a safety ground. Do not energize the system until it is made and verified.
Once the secondary wiring, fan harness, and ground bond are complete, make the user AC input connection to the harmonic neutralizer as described in AC Input Connection, and refit all access panels.
