Magna-Power Electronics Awarded 2016 NJ Manufacturer of the Year
Magna-Power Electronics, a worldwide leader in programmable DC power products, is pleased to announce that it is the recipient of the 2016 New Jersey Manufacturer of the Year Award. Magna-Power, one of four finalists in the medium size category, was presented with the award at the NJMEP “Made in New Jersey” Manufacturing Day Event in Somerset, New Jersey on October 7, 2016.
While a vertically integrated approach to manufacturing is today considered somewhat unconventional, it has provided Magna-Power full internal control of quality, cost, and lead-time.
This year, Magna-Power celebrates its 35th anniversary as a market-leading power electronics manufacturer. With increased pressures from low-cost foreign manufacturing, Magna-Power chose to systemically in-source operations as opposed to out-source. Internal manufacturing processes at the company include: sheet metal fabrication, machining, powder coating, printed circuit assembly, magnetics winding, cable harnessing and final testing. Through strategic investment in new machinery, employee training, and new facilities, Magna-Power has been able to thrive in a global marketplace through its vertically integrated manufacturing.
“While a vertically integrated approach to manufacturing is today considered somewhat unconventional, it has provided Magna-Power full internal control of quality, cost, and lead-time,” stated Adam Pitel, Vice President of Operations. “The company and its very dedicated team are grateful to be recognized as a manufacturing leader with the receipt of the 2016 NJ Manufacturer of the Year Award.”
Both Congressman Leonard Lance and Lt. Governor Kim Guadagno were present at the event, speaking about the latest political initiatives in support of New Jersey manufacturing.
Magna-Power is headquartered in Flemington, New Jersey in its newly completed state-of-the-art 73,500 sq-ft manufacturing facility. Magna-Power is actively seeking additional personnel in both engineering and manufacturing as it continues to grow, introduce new products, and improve manufacturing processes.
