Magna-Power Electronics Breaks Ground on Third Phase of Manufacturing Facility
Magna-Power Electronics, a leader in high power programmable DC power supplies, broke ground on the third phase of its manufacturing facility in Flemington, New Jersey. At 16,780 sq-ft, the facility’s third phase will be directly connected to the existing headquarters on Royal Road, bringing the total facility size to 73,530 sq-ft. The company’s Flemington location houses all of the company’s engineering and production operations.
Magna-Power Electronics moved its headquarters to Flemington in 2006 with a custom tiered manufacturing facility design, allowing the production capabilities to grow with the company. In 2011, the company broke ground on a much needed phase two expansion, which more than doubled the original facility and added a research and development center. The third and final phase of construction for the 39 Royal Road location will support the anticipated upcoming growth and developments. The company expects to add new jobs to support the new internal processes afforded by the expansion and also as it installs additional machinery.
Magna-Power Electronics, incorporated in 1981, builds a broad range of programmable DC power supplies that addresses requirements in water treatment, defense, and research at national laboratories and universities, as well as emerging markets such as automobile electrification and renewable energy conversion. In early 2012, the company announced a market-leading 2-week production time on nearly all its built-to-order products. The company’s commitment to United States manufacturing is reflected in its vertically integrated manufacturing process, a key contributor to its recent growth and ability to compete in a global marketplace.
