Description
Overview
The MagnaLINK™ interconnect cable harness provides the two critical connections required for true master-slave operation. The system utilizes Magna-Power's dedicated MagnaLINK port for all product-to-product traffic.
- Data Link (The Brains): This connection transmits the high-speed MagnaLINK™ digital protocol. It handles all control commands, system configuration, real-time operating values, and multi-processor firmware upgrades between the master and slave units.
- Current Sense (The Nerves): This analog connection is essential for accurate load sharing. The current sense connector plugs directly into the Current Sense port on each unit, providing the master with the feedback needed to ensure each slave contributes its precise share of the total current. In addition, every current sense cable provides a spliced additional current sense connector, allowing current connectors to be daisy-chained.
By integrating both digital control and analog feedback into a single, factory-tested harness, setup is simplified and performance is validated.
Configurations
The MagnaLINK™ cable harness comes in two different configurations. Both configurations utilize an RJ11 cable wrapped with one turn through a common-mode choke to interconnect the MagnaLINK ports.
Configuration A utilizes Molex 1545 connectors for the current sense connections. Configuration B utilizes
| Configuration | MagnaLINK Connector Type | Current Sense | Compatible Products |
| A | RJ11 | Molex 1545 | ALx Series ARx Series WRx Series |
| B | RJ11 | Molex Micro-Fit 3.0 43645 | SLx Series |
