PQA/PQD Series
Programmable DC Power Supply
The PQA/PQD Series was built using the 3.3, 6.6, and 10 kW power processing modules. It used a combination of high- and medium-frequency power processing technologies to improve response, shrinks package size, and reduces cost. PQ Series power supplies are current-fed. Compared with conventional switching power supplies, these supplies could easily tolerate the punishment of the most rigorous applications.
The PQ Series models covered a very wide output range, spanning from voltage levels from 10 Vdc up to 1000 Vdc (floating) and current levels up to 900 Adc for its 10 kW power processing modules. All models were available in a 3U 5.25" high enclosure. All PQA/PQD Series power supplies came standard with isolated 37-pin external I/O, RS232, Remote Interface Software, LabVIEW/LabWindows drivers for integration into a variety of programming environments.
The PQA/PQD Series was the first product line to use microprocessors in the controller and display board. Closed-loop control was still analog making the product line similar in performance to the PQ Series. The PQA had a simpler display panel than the PQD panel, making the former a better fit for industrial processes and the later a better for R&D.
