The TQ Series was built using a 6-pulse Silicone Controlled Rectifier (SCR) front-end with a medium-frequency link secondary stage. The control frequency was 300/360 Hz and the medium-frequency link was 400 Hz. The size and weight were substantially less than a typical SCR-based power supply, but performance was similar to the PX Series. The product line was short lived as the the SCR front-end was replaced with high-performance choppers, providing substantial performance improvements. The TQ Series offered a broad voltage range at the time, spanning models with maximum voltage levels from 20 Vdc up to 1,000 Vdc (floating) and current levels up to 7,500 Adc. 150 kW models were available in a double 19" rack and weighed 2100 lbs.

The TQ Series power supply was replaced with the poplar MT Series line. The maximum power level was increased from 150 kW to 250 kW and maximum voltage increased to 6,000 Vdc (floating)
